“S’ABBA DURCHE” (“FRESH WATER”)
This is a tiny beach (around 100m) of
basalt, volcanic pebbles to the north of Cala Gonone.
Its outstanding feature is the intense green colour of
the sea, caused by the freshwater spring which mixes
with the salt-water (hence the name). From the beach a
small path leads to a series of white, limestone
cliffs, ideal for those who enjoy suntanning on rocks.
Proceeding a little further, one reaches the large
caves of Bidiriscottai and “dei Colombi” - “of the
doves” - both very impressive. A real paradise for
free climbing and bungee jumping enthusiasts. |
