CALA CARTOE

Not far from, and of greater size than Osala, is the bay of Cala Cartoe, enclosed on either side by headlands. The natural landscape around the cove, crossed by a stream to form a beautiful lake, remains unspoilt by houses or other constructions. The beach can be reached from Dorgali (9 km) and Cala Gonone (10 km) by proceeding along narrow, tarmac roads, both of them very scenic (later merging). Only the last part of the journey is along dirt track. Imposing oaks near the beach provide shade and are the perfect spot for alfresco snacks and picnics.
