CALA OSALA
11 kilometres away from Dorgali and Calagonone, in the
northern part of the Orosei Gulf, lies the beach “dei
gigli” - “of the lilies”. The name derives from the
delicate white flowers which bloom in the sand. Behind
the dunes there is a small pool, where waders can
easily be spotted in the spring. On the headland to the
north, a Bronze Age nuraghe is clearly visible. In the
past, the whole surrounding coastline would have been
monitored for enemy invasions from here. Close by, and
easily accessible by road, there are a bar and
farmstay, offering comfort and high-quality services,
to make a holiday in this enchanting oasis all the
more pleasurable. For those keen on physical pursuits,
the beach can also be reached by mountain bike or on
horseback. |
